Scripps Clinic enforces consistent rep visitation protocol across 12 specialty practices

Manually scheduling medical science representatives was a burdensome task that had begun drain productivity in several Scripps Health clinics.

When the health system opened the doors of its newly-constructed John R. Anderson V Medical Pavilion that integrated multiple specialties into one building, Amanda Blommaert, Manager of Clinic Operations, knew this antiquated and siloed approach wasn’t going to work.

“Each office had their own process,” she says. “There was no one set process to manage this.”

Not only did manual, paper-based scheduling drain staff productivity, but it also didn’t take into account the shared meeting space to which departments had access.

Blommaert wanted physicians to continue to maintain relationships with drug reps, many of whom provided valuable education. “The feedback I get from the reps and physicians is that the one-on-one time is so important,” she says.
