Oncology Consultants improves access to clinical information with RxVantage

Like many community-based practices, Oncology Consultants relies on medical science representatives for critical information about new regimens and protocols as well as information about billing and Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs). However, scheduling the reps was taking its toll on staff productivity.

Niki Roosma, Executive Assistant who oversees daily operations, knew she had to think outside the box so the practice could continue to schedule an average of 60 rep visits weekly without having to devote additional internal resources. With RxVantage, Oncology Consultants creates appointment slots so reps can self-schedule. It also controls the frequency with which certain reps can book appointments. This includes being able to tailor appointment slots for each of its nine clinic locations. Other advantages include the ability to easily search for patient assistance programs with RxAssist. Staff can also search for individual reps by first/last name, product/drug name, or company name. They can even require confirmation for meetings and send private messages to reps without having to exchange email addresses.

“RxVantage has been a tremendous help in the last 4-5 months,” says Roosma. “The technology has been so nice. You don’t have to pick up the phone and have a 15-minute conversation with the rep to get what you need.”

Since partnering with RxVantage, Oncology Consultants has automated the entire process surrounding rep management, bringing it up to modern standards. It has also been able to maximize educational sessions by bringing in reps from companies that are most relevant to the practice. When questions arise, it’s easy to communicate with reps with just a few clicks.
